The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry
After the author's popular story about a senior's journey was adapted into a recent cinematic release, it included multiple beautiful tracks by artist Sam Lee. More recently, another musician Passenger created the musical compositions for the theatrical version, which is moving to the West End in winter. This recording of track versions, called One for the Road – with bonus material that were cut from the theatrical show and a feature from performer Jack Wolfe, who portrayed the storytelling character – is currently available to stream.
Wonderland Tea Party
This performance group is giving the classic story a contemporary twist in the coming months, with this adaptation at Sadler's Wells. Tanika Gupta relocates the classic drama from late 19th-century Kristiania to 1948 London and changes the protagonist into a former Hollywood star, in a rewrite drawing from the experiences of award-winning actress Merle Oberon. Hettie Macdonald guides the actress in the world premiere at the Orange Tree in the London borough. Available the end of the month.
Moments of Grace with Aurélie Dupont
Cinematographer Cédric Klapisch is best known for his often romantic comedies – but he also has a devotion to ballet. His cinematic work called En Corps featured dancer Marion Barbeau, whose guide this celebrated artist, the star performer transitioned to dance director at Paris Opera, is documented via incredible artistic sequences in this documentary film, now on this online platform.
The Inheritance Story
A powerful portrayal from Adeel Akhtar drives the director's contemporary stage production, which arrives at this streaming service on the twelfth. On that evening, to recognize Captioning Awareness Week and a quarter century of the deaf-led charity Stagetext, there's a subtitled online event with interactive discussion for viewers.
